Zero IP Logging
We do not track, log, or sell IP addresses, hardware identifiers, browser fingerprints, or geo-locations.
Total Dissolution
Rooms and confessions dissolve automatically upon timer expiration. Purged data is completely overwritten.
Zero-Recovery Accounts
No email or phone link. Forgotten passwords cannot be reset. Inactive accounts are purged after 30 days.
1. Zero-Knowledge Architecture & Identity
The Expiring Room ("we", "our", or "Sanctuary") operates as a zero-knowledge, pseudonymous communications platform. We do not require, collect, or store real legal names, email addresses, telephone numbers, or government identifiers during registration.
Your account consists strictly of a self-chosen pseudonym username, a cryptographic password hash, and a symbolic avatar representation.
2. Ephemeral Lifecycles & 30-Day Account Dissolution
Room & Message Expiration:All temporary room transcripts, chat messages, and multimedia attachments are programmed to self-destruct upon the expiration of the room's timer (ranging from 12 to 72 hours). Once expired, database records are permanently deleted.
30-Day Dormancy Purge: Any user shell account that remains inactive (no logins or room interactions) for 30 consecutive days is flagged as abandoned and permanently wiped from our production databases to preserve absolute user anonymity.
No Account Recovery: Because we do not store emails or phone numbers, our administrators cannot reset passwords or recover lost accounts. Users bear sole responsibility for safeguarding their credentials.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- No Internet Protocol (IP) address logs.
- No GPS coordinates or physical location tracking.
- No advertising tracking pixels, third-party marketing cookies, or social network tracking SDKs.
- No biometric or voiceprint data.
4. Cookies & Local Browser Storage
We only use browser localStorage and transient session tokens for maintaining your authenticated session state and local preferences (such as audio synthesizer volume). We do not use persistent tracking cookies.
5. Legal Inquiries & Compliance
Due to our zero-log ephemeral architecture, expired messages, dissolved rooms, and purged dormant accounts do not exist on our servers and cannot be retrieved, reconstructed, or produced under any legal subpoena, warrant, or court order.
